Visiting Researcher
PhD candidates currently enroled at another university (either in Germany or abroad) who wish to conduct research at DLGS for a limited period can apply as visiting researchers, provided they meet the eligibility criteria. Please note that DLGS does not charge tuition fees nor provide financial support for short-term research stays. Applicants seeking external funding should inform us in advance of relevant deadlines and any additional requirements from the funding institutions.
A complete DLGS applicationincludes all of the following:
- A letter of motivation
- A work proposal within the scope of DLGS, clearly addressing its scientific profile and remit
- A detailed work plan for the duration of the stay
- Certificates and transcripts of academic qualifications (MA, BA, higher education entrance exam)
- English proficiency test certificate (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.)
- Fully completed and submitted online application form

As visiting researchers, applicants will be offered a workspace at the DLGS offices and will have access to the same opportunities as other PhD fellows. Enrolment as an exchange student at TUD is also recommended. Further information can be found in the Frequently asked questions.
