Call for PhD contributions for the 4th IOER Conference “Space & Transformation”

Submissions due 2 April

In 2026, the DLGS Summer School will take place as part of the IOER Conference under the theme “Digitalisation meets transformative governance: Towards urban and regional sustainability‽”. The event will explore the relations between digitalisation and transformative governance in research, policy and practice with a view to the diverse urban and regional sustainability innovations urgently required.

The DLGS Summer School offers participants the opportunity to present work in progress, receive feedback from leading scholars, and network with peers and senior researchers. The programme also includes a training workshop, which in 2026 will be led by Prof. Sarah Giest (Leiden University) on the topic “From Research to Policy: Navigating Collaboration in Practice.”

PhD candidates at any stage of their doctoral research and from relevant fields are invited to submit reflexive PhD contributions to the DLGS Summer School (22 September). They are also encouraged to participate in the IOER Conference (23–24 September). Those who wish to present at the conference must submit a separate application for the conference and may choose up to two different formats.
