Tieza Mica Santos and Riyan Habeeb (Cohort 2020) recently participated in the 7th Network of Early Career Researchers in Sustainability Transitions (NEST) conference organized through a hybrid mode in Lyon, France from 4-6 May 2022.
On the second day of the conference, Santos and Habeeb facilitated a joint-online workshop entitled Dialogue on Transformation Framework and Spatial Planning for Urban Water Systems in the Global South.
On the last day of the conference, Santos presented her paper on Conceptual perspectives on urban water systems transformation through the lens of Social-Ecological Systems (SES) and Sociotechnical Systems (STS) frameworks, which is a component paper of her cumulative thesis. In her presentation, she emphasised on the shared and diverging conceptual perspectives on urban water systems grounded on the theoretical root of complex systems and transformation and how the SES and STS frameworks offer distinct and shared ontologies and epistemologies on the subject.
